Eme
A moment to unwind in the city.
Located past a plant shop in Musashi-Koyama, French bistro Eme serves Basque-inspired regional dishes, seasonal courses, assorted appetizers, and wine in a calm setting.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Walking past the lush foliage of a plant shop brings you into a calm dining room that feels pleasantly detached from the bustle outside. Situated in the Musashi-Koyama area, Eme is a bistro where guests can take their time over cooking that blends classic French technique with regional accents from places like the Basque Country. With both counter and table seating, the room accommodates a quiet glass of wine on your own just as comfortably as a relaxed meal shared with company.
At lunchtime, the kitchen presents a Chef's Lunch Course complete with an appetizer assortment, soup, a choice of main dish, dessert, and an after-meal drink. Options adapt easily to your midday schedule, from a meal opening with vibrant starters and seasonal soup to an expanded five-course format featuring the day's fish dish. Unpretentious yet thoroughly prepared, the food effortlessly lends an everyday lunch the feel of an occasion.
Come evening, an extensive wine selection pairs alongside both à la carte selections and full courses. The menu highlights regional culinary traditions through items such as soupe garbure—a Basque-style soup gently stewed with vegetables, beans, and cured ham—a charcuterie board with Pierre Oteiza salami, and daily baked pies evoking pork and sweet pepper axoa. Tender meat preparations and deep-flavored tapas naturally encourage another glass of wine, keeping table conversation lingering.
For the finale, desserts offer an appealing coda, featuring rich gâteau chocolat mi-cuit, a nostalgic mini pudding à la mode, and fromage blanc with leatherwood honey. Savoring these final notes alongside hot coffee makes a persuasive case for visiting at either lunch or dinner.
